FINDING LIFELONG MATES IN OUR COMMUNITIES

Sandra moved into Tuart Lakes Lifestyle Resort in late 2021 and has already found she is surrounded by an incredible group of new people she now calls friends.

“I looked at a lot of the lifestyle communities because I liked the idea of a home that required less maintenance, and I was attracted to the resort style way of living. Tuart Lakes caught my eye because it is surrounded by trees and greenery, and for me that’s ideal.”

“I decided to move into the resort on my own after losing my husband. I felt lonely in my house in Rockingham - I think it was just too big for me. I sold it to my daughter who now lives there with her husband and my two granddaughters. It is such a blessing having them so close by.”

Sandra joined the Lifestyle Living Alone Club (LLA) as soon as she signed her contract. This group is for widowed or single individuals who have moved to Tuart Lakes and are looking to make friends. Sandra like many others have found that The LLA Club is a fantastic way to meet people with similar interests and to forge new friendships.

“My saving grace has been the LLA Club. I think without them, I would be lost. They are a lovely collection of folks, most of whom are widows like me, and all have common interests and life experiences. We gather on Monday to decide where to go out for lunch or dinner on a Wednesday or whether having a BBQ in the resort is easier. This way, we know where we are going and who we are going with each week. Even though we still go out occasionally in small groups, everyone is aware that Wednesdays are when we all get together for a meal. We’re currently planning a weekend away, which just goes to show how close we have all become.”

“It's crucial to feel comfortable and welcomed, especially in a community like this, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced that at Tuart Lakes. There is always something to do and someone to talk to. I love all the facilities and groups I have formed here, even the folks in my aqua aerobics club I look forward to seeing. I am very appreciative that I have met such a great group of people because the friendships I have formed, whether they are close friends or other people in the community that I see in the street, they mean the world to me.”
